It is essential to recognize and understand the manifestations that may occur when ministering deliverance. These manifestations serve as indicators of the spiritual warfare occurring and can help you discern the presence and departure of demons. This handout provides an overview of two types of manifestations: Common Manifestations of Exit (MOE) and Common General Manifestations (GM).
Common Manifestations of Exit (MOE) During a Deliverance:
· Yawning: Excessive yawning, often uncontrollable.
· Coughing: Frequent or persistent coughing during the deliverance process.
· Burping: Unusual and repetitive burping.
· Sneezing: Frequent and sudden sneezing.
· Screaming: Loud and uncontrollable screams.
· Crying: Intense bouts of crying or weeping.
· Physical Sensations: Sensations that manifest and then subside, such as tingling, pressure, or pain in specific areas of the body.
· Fluid Drainage: Discharge of fluid (mucus for example) from the nose or eyes.
· Nothing*: In some cases, there may be no immediate manifestation. In such instances, it is important to assess the individual's life and observe the fruit or change (if any) over a few days. Follow-up after a few weeks is recommended to ensure the absence of demonic influence.
*Note: Discernment is crucial, as demons may temporarily lay low before reemerging. Continued observation and support are necessary.
Common General Manifestations (GM) During a Deliverance:
· Eyes Rolling or Closing: Unusual movement of the eyes, such as rolling back or tightly closing.
· Huffing and Puffing: Aggressive breathing, often accompanied by audible exhales.
· Crossing Arms or Pouting: Defensive postures, such as crossing arms or exhibiting signs of resistance.
· Trying to Get Away: Physical attempts to distance oneself from the deliverance process.
· Arguing or Mocking: Engaging in verbal disputes like challenging the authority or legitimacy of the deliverance.
· Crying or Begging: Emotional outbursts and pleading for the deliverance to stop.
· Freaking out or Shaking: Panic or intense fear expressed through trembling or shaking.
· Hitting, Kicking, or Pushing: Physical aggression directed towards others or objects.
· Spitting: Spontaneous spitting or salivating beyond normal levels.
Remember, not everyone may experience these manifestations in the same way, so sensitivity and prayerful discernment is key.
